@homesteadinhoneyy: My cat brought this tiny baby bat into our house after midnight last night. 🦇 At first, we had no idea what to do. Looking back, we learned there are a few things we should have done differently: ❌ Don’t handle bats with bare hands. ❌ Don’t assume a bat is healthy just because it’s a baby. ❌ Don’t let pets continue interacting with it. ✅ If you find a bat, keep people and pets away. ✅ Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, animal control, or your local wildlife agency for guidance. ✅ Make sure your pets stay current on their rabies vaccinations. This little one appeared to be a newborn bat pup, which made the situation extra heartbreaking. We moved it away from the cat and hoped its mother would find it, but after doing more research, we learned a wildlife professional would have been the best call.
