As someone who went to pottery class.. it’s the most worth it. You will lose, tire or break the material stuff but keep the things you learned plus you get all these handmade things! More plus if the studio has cheap or free bench time!

I started doing something similar. Instead of buying the things I “want” in the moment, I redirect that money toward my mortgage and debt. Since January, I’ve paid down $59,888. Every time I’m tempted to make a purchase, I remind myself that future financial freedom is worth more than temporary gratification.

I use a sinking fund method, I make a spreadsheet of the things I want and depending on how long it stays on the spreadsheet, I will purchase! I put experiences as a reward for sticking to it and not impulse buying! Like the pottery class is a great example of a reward!
