@haleykloha: So romantic…but actually 50 shades of Grey is showing you an abusive relationship and coercive control. #coercivecontrol #abuse #50shadesofgrey #domesticabuseawareness #education
Everything about this book can be explained by knowing that its a twilight fanfiction.

I love your take on these movies. have you ever talked about songs? for example, Every Breath You Take. In some ways I think songs can be worse than movies because you can hear a song hundreds of times. anyway, I really enjoy your content.

I couldn’t even get through the book and never understood the hype. I don’t see how abuse is a turn on or entertaining.

This series was horrific on so many levels. Bad rep for BSDM community. Not romantic at all. I bought the series on the recommendation of a friend and immediately return them.

Personally, I am always of the opinion that fiction is fiction and therefore anything can go. However. With that said. People wildly misinterpret some forms of fiction and I think this is a prime example and your video illustrates it perfectly. I have quite literally heard people say out loud that the characters remind them of themselves when they read this book. I’m sorry, that’s not good.

That book series and movies I watched at a young age and hyper fixated on this as love. At 29 I almost died bc I was with a man who mimicked him.

I liked these books until I understood what coerce of control was. Thank you for bringing awareness to how FOMO is used to manipulate the masses into believing that coercive control is love.

What is your take on the popularity of ‘dark romance’? I like some darker plots however much of it is so over the top I struggle to read anything labeled as ‘dark romance’.

I never watched it or read it, but after hearing your explanation-this sounds like my Mom and Dad’s relationship.

To this day I’ve NEVER watched any of these movies. I’ve always felt extremely uncomfortable about the storyline. The power and control, the way it was sold as romance also made me so uncomfortable. Ohh but he married her….sighhhhh

I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship when this movie came out and the promos were so triggering. I don’t know HOW anyone considers this sexy. It’s just glorifying abuse.

Are there any examples of a healthy dynamic in pop culture or is coercive control essentially what we are all considering care?
