@relatewithwolfy: Amnesty International confirmed that at least 1,100 people were abducted in northern Nigeria between January and April 2026 alone. That is the most credible single aggregate figure available from a named, sourced organisation. Amnesty International's Nigeria Director Isa Sanusi stated directly: "Estimates of the number of abductions by gunmen and armed groups across Nigeria vary and some of the commonly cited figures vastly understate the scale of the problem." That warning is important. The 1,100 figure is a confirmed minimum, not a ceiling. The real number is almost certainly higher because rural abductions are frequently unreported. Adding the confirmed May 2026 school abductions brings the documented total from January to May 30, 2026 to at least 1,182 people abducted in verified incidents across northern Nigeria and beyond. #WakeUpNaija #whileyouwerescrolling #NigeriaInCrisis #arewa__tiktok

The north only protests on religious issues that have no direct benefits/bearing on them. The northern Nigerian influencers and the masses can't think for themselves rather the religious leaders and politicians think for us.

my view, the era of genuine collective action against the threats facing Northern Nigeria has largely passed. Regardless of differing opinions on how kidnappers should be confronted, everyone knows that the first thing a kidnapper does after successfully carrying out a crime is demand ransom. These criminals are not ghosts that descended from the sky, nor are they unknown spirits with no ties to society; they come from communities and families that are aware of their actions, yet many choose silence. When victims of kidnapping lost hope in receiving adequate protection and their confidence in the security forces declined, they began organizing local self-defense groups to protect their lives and property. Yet as soon as these efforts emerged, opposition arose from every direction, as though the victim were expected to remain a victim forever.

While I understand your point, one factor that often plays out in Northern Nigeria is identity. Many northern influencers and social media commentators find it difficult to openly condemn individuals they perceive as sharing their cultural, ethnic, or religious identity. The case in Oyo was relatively straightforward because many people already viewed the perpetrators as extremist elements from the North. That made it easier for South-West influencers and the wider public to condemn the atrocities without hesitation. The challenge arises when the perpetrators are seen as part of one's own group. In such situations, some people become more reluctant to speak out, often choosing to defend, downplay, or remain silent about the wrongdoing.

Hello to the next generation 🤍 If you see this, just know we tried our best. Life wasn’t easy, things were hard, expensive, and sometimes all we did was survive. No help, just us 🥺😓 But we still dreamed, still smiled, and kept going. If life gets better for you, cherish it. If it doesn’t, don’t give up. You’re stronger than you think ❤️Be kind, choose yourself, and never stay where you’re not valued. From a generation that refused to give up 🥹❤️2/6/2026

"It is sad and painful, but we must be honest with ourselves: religion has become a weapon in Nigeria, and it is killing us. We need to start valuing human life above every other identity. The only way to protect what little we have left is to be louder than those who profit from our division. We must preach true unity — where what happens in the North breaks the heart of the South, and what happens in the South angers the North. One pain. One people. That is the Nigeria I want for our children. Our silence is acceptance This division is destroying us all — and the worst part is, we are letting it."

For real, I have never seen the Hausa stage a protest. They need to use their voice. Every single Nigerian (Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo), we all need to use our voice

The north is permitting the terrorists actions, they never complained and are always silent because they cannot condemn the actions of the Fulani terrorists, maybe because of religion you only know that the northerners are in social media only when their people are attack in the south then you hear their politicians and others talking everywhere
