Certified instructor here🙋🏻‍♀️Your form isn’t the worst I’ve seen😂🫶🏻 but I always teach my clients to follow this pattern: as you push back you go “legs, core, arms” — push with your legs, lean back slightly (imagine you’re on a clock, you’re leaning from 12:00 to 1:00), arms: pulling shoulders down and back, handle coming between your sternum and bellybutton. Then on the way back towards the fan, doing the opposite: arms, core legs LOVE YOUUUU🫶🏻🫶🏻

ok your form is like….so close yet so far. you need to get a bit more lean like you’re reaching with your arms towards the fan. and pushing your legs first, then your body, then arms come into your chest!

If anyone sees this, as someone who rows at a club please please PLEASE make sure your form is down before you go for it.You will hurt yourself if you don’t. Push through your heels like you are pushing the footplates away, keep your arms completely relaxed and straight. Think of legs (push away through the legs no pulling with your arms), then body (rock your hips slightly) and then arms (this is when your arms come into the equation (pull the bar into your diaphragm area. Then you do that sequence backwards. Set your drag factor to between 115-130 and keep the damper between 3/4 NOT 10 PLEASE.

Pro tips from a former rower: don’t wear cushy running shoes, opt for thinner weightlifting shoes so all your energy is going into the machine not into all that foam! For form, the best advice is to lean all the way forward, arms straight out, and press your legs all the way down before moving your back, and then finally your arms. It uses your leg muscles a lot more and your arm muscles a lot less, which increases your performance
