Farotimi is biased when it comes to Tinubu. Governors collect security votes to support security operations and emergency responses. It is misguided to argue that the federal government should stop all crime in a state while the state government bears no responsibility. The federal government may have failed, but the Oyo State Government also failed woefully.

Sometimes, when people strongly admire certain individuals they see as intelligent, they begin to accept and defend every statement without questioning it deeply themselves. That is why many keep repeating that state governments have no responsibility for security issues. Trying to excuse any part of leadership in a kidnapping issue is part of the problem. How can people be elected as leaders and still claim they have no responsibility when lives are at stake? Yes, security agencies are under the federal government, but state governments still have a responsibility for the safety of people within their states through coordination, intelligence, support, and local security efforts. The federal, state, and local governments, including traditional leaders, should all be held accountable. When pressure is on everyone, they are forced to work together to find solutions instead of shifting blame.
