@whatsmadisonreadingnow: Replying to @Lucy 📚✨| Booktok Book 92: Endgame FINALE I asked people to recommend me books they DIDN’T like, and now I’m reading them! I fear this book made me irrationally angry. On to 93! No poll today, you’ll see why. #BookTok #bookish #bookstagram

I so appreciate how thoughtful you are about things like being careful of people’s lived experience. That more than anything makes this the book account I follow the most!

I'm pretty sure this is included in one of our high school English classes curriculums. I've never read it though.

I was deeply touched by The Glass Castle when I read it in high school. I had a teacher who gifted it to me, I think to try and help me deal with my own family stuff, and I felt so connected to Jeannette and felt her complex relationship to her family to be very compelling and relatable. Still one of my all time favorite memiors to this day.

I remember really liking the glass castle and that it read like a fiction book even though it’s a memoir. So sometimes I got lost in the story and had to remember that somebody actually lived this. It was very well written.

I loved this memoir. I loved her writing style and the way she interacted with her memories and experiences.

I loved this book. 4 stars from me. I try to listen to all memoirs if they are read by the author, this was worth the listen

I read it at a time when I was reading a lot of memoirs. I enjoyed it(if that’s the word), but for me, there were others that I was able to connect better with. It’s easy to read but also very difficult to read.

The glass castle is on my tbr. I agree with you though, I do not rate memoirs. It’s strange to put stars on to someone’s life and experience.
