The FYP has delivered. I’m a NC RE Broker, and have worked for a luxury builder and I built a Clayton Home on our property. Customized Modular from Richfield- guess what finishing contractors were used? The same ones who built the multi million $ properties!

We are in a manufactured home. We’ve been in it for 9 years. The only problem we had was a leaky window, and Clayton came in and fixed it. It hasn’t leaked since. Our manufacturer was Skyline.

I think the land/location makes the difference. And even if you have a traditional home built you still need to be on top of the builder.

We just got a manufactured home for less then 250k, 4 bed 2 bath 1900 sqft. Yes it's got it's issues but we also could have spent way more for the same problems that stick built homes have. Home being built so fast that quality has died.

The problem is insurance companies only cover them at replacement cost for 30 years. They have a higher rate of wind damage and being a total loss in a fire. The insurance is a lot more on manufactured homes.

The thing people don't realize is, guess what, your House will have the Same problems as a mobile home! I bought mine in '98, biggest double-wides available. Brick underpinning & could sell for 5 times more on my land!
