If they would bring the average new price for a vehicle below what it would cost as a down payment to a house I think a lot more people would come back but until we start seeing $18,000 Ford fiesta again and similar vehicles, I don’t think anyone’s ever gonna come back. How much will they spend two grand on a used vehicle that’s gonna get me a couple of years and then do the same thing. It’s been $40,000 on a vehicle that’s probably gonna last me about six years before I have to go buy a new one when I could use that same money to buy a house instead of.

price at the pump is over record highs. a base model pickup starts at $50k. adding one option jumps it another $10k. $700-$800/mo payments are unjustifiably. no one seemingly came build a reliable power train anymore. last, this new Killswitch law that goes into effect next year is going to tank the market.

not only is there reliability issues in new vehicles but over reaching government regulations are also more then most buyers want to deal with

I knew this was coming four years ago when the TRX brand new, one of the HIGHEST trim rams, was 80k ish in 2020 but in 2022 some of the lowest ram trims were pushing 80k and it has just gotten worse.
