If they would bring the average new price for a vehicle below what it would cost as a down payment to a house I think a lot more people would come back but until we start seeing $18,000 Ford fiesta again and similar vehicles, I don’t think anyone’s ever gonna come back. How much will they spend two grand on a used vehicle that’s gonna get me a couple of years and then do the same thing. It’s been $40,000 on a vehicle that’s probably gonna last me about six years before I have to go buy a new one when I could use that same money to buy a house instead of.

I just want a car, no tech, no connectivity, no trackers, no "driver monitor" taddlers, just a car that goes from a to b reliably for a few decades. that no longer exists so I won't be buying anything

I have a 2018 Ford raptor, I recently looked at a 2025 and you know why I didn't buy? Theres no DIFFERENCE. sure it has a bigger touch screen and a new body and new suspension. why pay 90k for what I can do to what I own now for maybe 8k and have the same product?

It’s not necessarily just the average cost, but the fact that the quality has decayed with rising costs. It was already a trending issue but got extremely worse during and after covid
