I wouldn’t fully agree. XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP are useful, but they’re pretty basic and not really what differentiates candidates in accounting roles anymore. What matters more is being digitally up to date, tools like Power BI for analysis and reporting are far more relevant in today’s environment. Unless you’re targeting smaller/ medium companies, employers increasingly value data and automation skills over just Excel formulas. I’d take a course like Power Bi instead of excel course. If I was an interviewer I’d assume that you are proficient in XLOOKUP & VLOOKUP formula because you should have used it during training/ articles.

SUMIF and SUMIFS are also important, but as you said XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables are a must.

Where I work Power Query is highly used. Makes pivot tables seem like kindergarten knowledge.

I love Xlook up I use it daily at work and lord I'm over making pivot tables but it is a must that uou know all of these skills especially when you have to use them every single day. Once you understand that basics it very simple for sure
