People are quick to paint Bear as the bad guy, but I don’t think that’s fair. Bear is a flawed person who makes mistakes, but being flawed doesn’t automatically make someone evil. Throughout the story, a lot of his actions come from hurt, confusion, and emotions he doesn’t know how to handle rather than a desire to intentionally destroy people. What makes Bear’s character so tragic is that he genuinely cares, even if he doesn’t always show it in healthy ways. He struggles with jealousy, insecurity, and fear of losing the people he loves. Those feelings don’t excuse every choice he makes, but they help explain why he acts the way he does. At his core, Bear is someone searching for love, acceptance, and understanding, just like everyone else.

Everyone’s is always talking about Nicki’s actor and how amazing she was. And yes SHE WAS SOO GOOD. but bears actor was also AMAZING. everytime he didn’t say something out loud I could tell what he was thinking just by his facial expression, like we were in his head the whole movie. It was chilling

this situation is sooo nuanced idc like yes bear is the villain, he’s selfish, needy, pathetic, and just overall a flawed character, but I think that’s what makes him so interesting ! Initially, he has no bad intentions, but as the veil is lifted to what is truly happening it only solidifies this grasp he has on his “relationship” with nikki. He does everything he can to make it “right” and “normal” and when he inevitably realizes he can’t he tries to run from the consequences of his actions . All of the characters in this movie are so well written tbh
