I actually had this happen last weekend. We'd invited one of our son's classmates to come over & play in our inflatable pool. When the parents arrived, they had 4 children get out of their car dressed in swimsuits with towels over their shoulders. When I said something, I was told that they'd already bought tickets to see a specific movie & thought since I'd already be watching 1 child that I could watch the other 3 as well. They were shocked when I said no because I wasn't prepared to have 3 additional kids in my house for 3-4hrs. Thankfully, they let the child we'd invited stay but said they'd have to reevaluate our kids friendship since I wasn't a team player

I wish playdates could be kids only. I have no trouble entertaining my 5 yr old and a friend. I hate having to make small talk and host the parent as well. Can’t wait until he’s older and friends can just be dropped off lol.

I had this happen, only it was a sleepover. The parents showed up with both their kids even though only the daughter was invited.

A mom tried this with me once and I just said “I wouldn’t watch another kid even if I was paid,much less for FREE” then laughed and walked away to play with my kid. She stood there a minute then put her stuff down. Suddenly she could stay🤷🏼♀️
