You know what’s funny, I had all of this as well before my current relationship. Now I’m a stay at home mom, and my partner is not a fucking leader in any way. I have tried letting go so many times in the last four years, and he just doesn’t get it. It’s not in his personality. Beta men are not a strong woman’s fault. Ummmm. No. If I’m taking care of everything, then I need someone who sees that, values that, and cares enough to make sure I have moments of not needing to hold it all. Not someone who doesn’t take up the responsibility also. It’s a mismatch, if she has to dim her light in order for him to shine. She’s right. If you feel like you’re carrying the relationship, chances are you’re people-pleasing and lacking boundaries. Stop enabling. One of two things will happen: he’ll step up, or the relationship will end. I learned this the hard way. My relationship got so much better once I started setting boundaries and I’m still learning.
