Trade. Rome traded with a large part of the world. Norse served in the Eastern Roman military. A Silver or Gold Coin keeps its value regardless of age or origin until modern money and banking came.

Some of these can be explained by the Roman’s trading with various other peoples and those peoples taking the coins to these locations.
