@Carmen :
Weird/possibly dumb question but could a bird carry them? Some like shiny things.

Rome never fell, it simply rebranded itself.

I think we VASTLY underestimate ancient Roman’s general knowledge of the world. Aristotle knew of the Korean peninsula so it’s not crazy talk.

Do you think it’s possible that a modern day person found a coin somewhere common from Rome and then dropped it off in another country somewhere else?

two different places 100 miles apart in Kentucky. Google it. I know the guy who found the first ones and you won't find anyone who would say this guy is dishonest

Worth noting that Iceland is likely described in the legend of Saint Brendan. Late 400s Irish monk, would likely have used Roman currency.

I’ve buried a coin in Bangladesh. Centuries later archeologists will speak of the newly discovered great Roman influence on Bengal

Trade. Rome traded with a large part of the world. Norse served in the Eastern Roman military. A Silver or Gold Coin keeps its value regardless of age or origin until modern money and banking came.

Some of these can be explained by the Roman’s trading with various other peoples and those peoples taking the coins to these locations.
