I started making tangzhong before anything and adding it to the dough.. makes my rolls much softer and stay soft and squishy ..

Please keep in mind, that different climate take different amounts of time. It could literally just be where you live.

Little tip from someone who makes yeast doughs often: measure it all in grams instead of cups, tbsps etc. to ensure accuracy. You can always use that measurement and convert it but grams ensures consistency ❤️

I use a heating pad to place my dough on because nothing rises in my house.

Pro Tip to help it rise a little faster. Direct contact of salt to yeast will cause it to rise longer as its another dehydrating element. Mixing it into the flour and adding that way without letting it touch the yeast is an effective way to fix it.
You do know that different elevations and humidity levels will change how fast a dough will rise as well as whether or not it will rise at all.

That’s the only reason why I haven’t made homemade dough. I’m intimidated by it.

I studied culinary at the art Institute of Houston. I deliberately avoided going into pastry bc it's a science. I hated science in school. 🤣🤣 Way to complex. Your very explicit detail in this video has helped for a better understanding. Baking tests my patience like my kids did when they were little 😁 Thank you. I'll do better and when I get it, I'll post pics

Are you spooning the flour into the cup or grabbing from the flour bag? It makes a big difference when trying to recreate recipes. Thank you!
