@forgottenpawsfamily: 🚨 EMERGENCY RESCUE PLEA; MOTHER AND PUPPIES RUNNING OUT OF TIME 🚨 We have a heartbreaking situation unfolding right now in a municipal shelter in Georgia. A mother dog and her three fragile puppies were just found locked inside an abandoned home, left to starve and die in filth. The smell when they arrived of rotting waste, infection, and decay—was overwhelming. It was the smell of being forgotten. Mom is emaciated; skin and bones and barely alive. X-rays show a foreign body inside her, and shortly after arriving at the shelter, she began having seizures and ultimately collapsed. Her body is failing and her life is slipping away. The shelter is not equipped to save her. They don’t have the means and if she doesn’t leave tonight, they will be forced to make a devastating decision. Her three babies are covered in urine and feces. Mom has no milk left, and the puppies are dangerously underweight. We don’t even know how they’re still alive. We need to get them to an emergency hospital immediately. Mom’s medical care will cost thousands. She needs treatment for seizures, possible surgery, IV fluids, and 24/7 monitoring for refeeding syndrome and other complications from extreme starvation.
