I hear you, but as someone who likes big words a lot, being able to explain something using simpler/smaller words for other people is a sign of intelligence. I just mean that the context in which you decide to use a larger word is important. Use these when you're writing something important, but maybe not in every day conversation.

"trust" by itself can't be paramount. "trusting" or "being trustful" or any action of trust can be paramount. trust is an idea. acting on the idea makes it paramount.

Years ago there was a show called "candid camera" and that could've been where I really learned what that word meant in part. It means honest, but it's really like something is exposed. Something revealed something is not hidden in that sense. It's honest it's open. it's real so candid camera was where they they spied on people. Basically they played a joke and then they let them know you're on candid camera and it was funny andyou know everyone had a good time so candid is like hidden private. You could say a candid response, which could also be described as a very open or vulnerable response you could even say a raw response, but candid means more than honest, but it doesn't always mean honest, but it can depending on how it's used.😁

If you want your English to be more precise, more polished and more formal then you've got to learn the words and you can start very easily and before you know it, you will have expanded your vocabulary in probably a way that you really enjoy and that has meaning to you. You can start with words that you're comfortable in knowing you have a very thorough and deep Ish understanding so for example, the difference between being attractive/pretty beautiful, gorgeous, stunning/exquisite. Those are levels of variation of beauty. There are lots of different types of beauty. As we know there's nature there's buildings there are people there are babies. There's a beautiful feeling there's a beautiful experience so you wouldn't say I had the prettiest experience interacting with a child today. You would say it was beautiful you could say it was exquisite. It was precious. It was lovely. It was delightful and you could very much say it was a beautiful experience

Monotonous means like monotone it doesn't necessarily mean boring. I'm not positive but if someone tells me it's monotonous, what I understand is that it's the same same same same it's a dry or consistent tone and that could be boring that can put someone to sleep lol but may not need doesn't necessarily mean that it's boring. It means more that it's like even tone like the way somebody would speak with no inflections no emphasis or very little. It could be mundane. These are likely synonyms of boring, but a synonym describes variations of how the original word is used they can be used interchangeably, but you have to be careful of nuances in meaning when you use words so very good looking is not necessarily gorgeous. It could be beautiful. It could be "quite handsome" but you've got to know words, well enough to be able to be flexible and your vocabulary got to be thoroughand wide enough and very well understood so that you can use words most appropriately, most fittingly😁

So for divergent, there's a specific application that I can't think of right now but if there were two differing opinions that were in stark contrast meaning they were very very different. Let's say one is 100% yes 100% no then I might say something like they're opposites because that's what they are. They're extreme opposites. Divergent means more like a moving away from a normal path. It's off the beaten path conceptually speaking but what you're doing with two different opinions in your example is your contrasting the two your communicating the idea that these are strongly opposing opinions which they are one is the one is no so I might say something like that or they're in stark contrast because they are Absolutely I wouldn't say divergent divergent just means like I've explained out of the ordinary going down a different path than one might expect an uncommon or even abnormal or unusual direction now divergence is related to divert to divert. Something means to go in a different direction to divert your driving path or if you're working on a projectlet's say a school paper or something and you got distracted and you didn't finish or whatever you could say, my attention was diverted temporarily, or you could just say you got distracted. Look at rude words when you are contemplating and learning variations of that word, and that should be very helpful to get the true grasp or a more accurate full grasp of the meaning of a particular word.

Proficient means more like fluent like a proficiency with a certain software application you know it backwards and forwards you know it inside out really it means you know it well enough to use it comfortably or fluently, which is different though than very skilled very skilled is much lower than proficient That word proficient is also used according to the context and the idea is that the person is well-versed like they understand the application well enough to be able to use it for our purposes well enough for our purposes very skilled is like a couple degrees lower. It's like a couple levels lower there's skilled and then there's very skilledand you could say extremely skilled and then you could say proficient and then you could say expert or maybe advanced, and then expert, but some companies would consider software application proficiency as expert, depending on the needs of the company. Lots and lots of nuances lots of nuances :-)

Fragile is extremely weak, but it also means delicate to absolutely handle with care. It's tenuous it's tentative. It's precarious week is different. The idea is different so for example, if you're an HR recruiter and someone has a weak application, you wouldn't say it's fragile you wouldn't say it's precarious you wouldn't say it's delicate. You might say it's not so strong. It's not very strongor you could literally say it's quite weak or it's very weak. So that word VERY has its place this has its application.

If you wanted to, you could substitute the word "quite" if you're tired of saying very you could say they're quite skilled they're quite pretty they're quite intelligent

VERY is usually used to describe another adjective right? So something isn't just fun. It's a level up so it's very fun and then up from that is joyful, joyous exuberant, Jolly, etc. but those words mean different things. Very just really kind of puts a punch and emphasizes whatever adjective you're using it with. So somebody can be very smart, but not anywhere near brilliant

Well, the thing is and I get your point we don't have to say very all the time we can expand our vocabulary and that's a great idea but very important doesn't necessarily mean paramount so just be careful when you expand your vocabulary to learn the definitions and the ways of usage carefully. Paramount means it's of the UTMOS importance; it is the MOST import. It's Paramount meaning of Trump's everything else in importance, which is different than very important You could say it's it's critical but then again the meanings are different so very important. It doesn't necessarily mean critical it doesn't necessarily mean imperative very important means just that it means it's very important. It's more than important. It's very important however it might not be critical imperative crucial paramount

Very clear means just that it's VERY clear but explicit means something far more than very clear so I understand what you're doing here but just be careful because very clear is different than explicit or crystal clear however you could also use the word concise, but it carries even a different meaning, even more to that word, although it does include being very clear. So there are lots of nuance differences in our vocabulary :-)

Very Important: High priority among many other competing priorities. Paramount: The single most critical priority that overrides everything else. Thank you for sharing this with us, helps me to know or discover new words, but as shown above « very » doesn’t necessarily make a word the same or the synonym of another one 🙏🏾

Also, if I were to describe somebody who was quite rich, I don't really use that word but I would say they're quite wealthy or this is an affluent community but very rich means what exactly? Is it wealthy? Is it filthy rich? Is it extraordinarily? I mean, if you're trying to communicate an idea, you want to use the word that's the most accurate but sometimes it's "very wealthy" or quite wealthy but Usually people at least that I know of don't say so and so is rich. They don't use that word it's kind of tacky. I guess you could say you wanna be more respectful at least I would say they're wealthy or they're well off. I'm not sure why I'm talking about someone else's money but lol if I said something like my family is quite wealthy my family is well off. We live in an affluent community. I mean only if it was necessary for me to say something like that, but people usually don't talk too much about other people's money or even their own really at least not with any like dignity or class in my awareness in this culture. You kinda don't go there cause it's really not our businessbut again if it was necessary to describe it and you want to use a little more dignified language as mentioned.😁

Also excruciating is like the worst type of pain so if my leg was very painful because it was aching, that's nowhere near excruciating excruciating is almost intolerable so we've got some pretty big jumps between very blank and then the words that you're proposing here in this post. Also, just a reminder communication is about understanding. It's about a meeting of the minds so if very pretty is a description then that is a legitimate description. It's not gorgeous. It's not beautiful. It's not stunning. Those are extreme versions of the same idea attractive pretty handsome pleasant looking good looking a hottie lol so there's a huge gap between pretty or very pretty and gorgeous huge gap. Also exquisite has the connotation also of being classy of being like fine featured or delicate or proper or formal so it carries different meanings, but you can be exquisite looking a painting can be exquisite. A garden can be exquisite. A book can be exquisite and not necessarily beautiful. The book isn't beautiful. So somebody can be exquisite looking without actually being very attractive because they have the other qualities.

You only have about two of them with solid synonym correlation...meticulous and explicit. The rest aren't well correlated in a general sense.
