It's interesting because, despite them being really similar in the culture (horror movies from relatively small creators that come from YouTube), they're not exactly complimentary films in presentation. I watched Backrooms after Obsession and felt almost understimulated until recalibrating to the tone of the movie

Stop misusing “Barbenheimer”! Its not just a term for a double feature of movies. Barbenheimer was a phenomena because it was two blockbusters that were entirely different tonally that RELEASED ON THE SAME DAY. Obsession and Backrooms and both horror and released weeks apart.

Horror is the most interesting genre today- hands down. They’re doing more with less and doing it better than the big boys. As always- Hollywood will not learn the correct lessons from the success of these films and screw tit up from here. Just watch.
