@4z_food: Lal Masoor Daal with Tadka For Boiling the Daal * 1 cup masoor daal * 1 small onion, chopped * 1 big tomato, chopped * 2 chillies, chopped * 1 tsp coriander powder * 2 tsp chilli powder * 1 tsp turmeric powder * Salt to taste * 1 chicken cube or vegetable cube * Water as required Add all the above ingredients to a pressure cooker. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Once cooked, mash the daal well. Add fresh lemon juice and chopped fresh coriander. For the Tadka * 1 tbsp ghee * 1 tbsp oil * 1 tsp rai (mustard seeds) * 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds) * 1 tbsp garlic, chopped * 4–5 dried red chillies * A few curry leaves Heat the ghee and oil together. Add rai and jeera and let them splutter. Add chopped garlic and sauté until lightly golden. Add dried red chillies and curry leaves. Pour the hot tadka over the mashed daal and mix well.
