I’ll die on the hill that it would’ve been better if Adi tried to adapt the reboot rather than the mainline series because the reboot gives leeway to have some bad writing we see in the anime.

The people who hate on the anime prove everyday that yall don’t watch the anime & it really shows especially when we literally seen him declaring to fight mundus in his mothers name & literally switched sides the moment he found out about his mom & both Dante & Vergil literally payed homage to their mom by saying they were the sons of Eva & Vergil whole conversation with Mattie should prove he never hated his mother he hated not being strong enough & literally tells Maddy to be strong for her grandfather

I think Vergil's hate for Jackpot might come from DMC5 where he says "Don't you dare say it". But Vergil in the games does like to say Jackpot I have heard he says it after doing a certain move in DMC5 but I haven't played and I forgot 😅. Vergil does indulge in Dante's habits he just usually doesn't show it in front of him.
