マヤ :
Ok let me explain the clothing thing bcuz i think it’s getting mixed up in the comments. So most of the clothes you see in a physical store in Japan are usually ALL display pieces. Usually you will see 1-2 of each item out, and those are for you to try-on in the changing room, check size/color of in person, etc. Sometimes it’s 2 displays of the same piece bcuz multiple ppl may want to try on/buy the same thing, though it often is one size only. Sometimes a store will have 1-3 displays of the same item because they are offering S/M/L sizing. But ALL that you see out are essentially for trying on. Once you decide that you want the item, you let the staff know and they will bring you a *brand new one that is wrapped in plastic usually. Then they put the one you tried on back on the rack for display. If the store has sizing, but one size is missing on the rack, that means that this size is sold out. Sometimes a piece will be left on the rack as a last stock item. This means that if you try on the one from the rack, and they don’t have any brand new ones in the back, you will get the one that you tried on. They will check with you if this is okay, because it may have damages or makeup from others trying the same piece on. It won’t be clean but you will still get the item you wanted. All of this doesn’t apply to stores like Uniqlo/GU, H&M, Zara, etc.
