for people asking why the skyline is a lot smaller than you'd expect from such a large city, it likely has to do with the fact that nobody built anything taller than city hall until 1987 due to a "gentleman's agreement". For reference, city hall is 548 feet tall and was the tallest habitable building in the world for about 14 years.
