@offenceregister: STEPHEN MCCLEAN HEANOR DOMESTIC ABUSER JAILED AFTER STRANGULATION ATTACK In 2026, violent thug Stephen McClean, 43, of Gladstone Street, Heanor, was jailed for 16 months at Derby Crown Court after choking his partner into unconsciousness and biting an arresting police officer. The investigation revealed that the dangerous offender systematically targeted his partner at her home address in Belper. Following an argument, McClean smashed her head, ripped out chunks of her hair, and compressed her throat until she blacked out, leaving her hospitalised for days with severe bruising and a trauma-induced lung infection. Owen attempted to fight off law enforcement after consuming a high volume of drugs, forcing officers to restrain him on a hospital floor, where he viciously bit a constable's hand. Public protection units deprived him of his freedom, and the judge rejected any community placement options, ordering an immediate custodial sentence. The Offender Database UK confirmed that Stephen McClean was convicted at Derby Crown Court: One count of intentional strangulation. One count of assaulting an emergency worker by beating. Stephen McClean remains subject to: An immediate 16-month custodial prison sentence with zero alternative. A strict court-enforced protective restraining order banning all contact with the survivor. High-tier domestic violence monitoring and mandatory post-release probation tracking. Is this justice? Share your comment below. Should domestic abusers who choke their partners until they pass out face mandatory maximum prison terms without parole?
