Genie In A Nutshell :
I would appreciate a little advice from anyone who has been through something similar.
Over many years, I've experienced a great deal of trauma from 6 years old. Then at 26, I found out the man I believed was my biological father was not, and at 55 I still don't know who my biological father is. I've been through four marriages, with the first three ending because I chose to leave. My current marriage is different one week my husband wants to leave, the next he wants to stay, and the uncertainty is emotionally exhausting.
There have been many other challenges along the way: our car was stolen with personal belongings, house keys, and documents inside; my children have struggled with drug addiction and rehabilitation; our family dog was injured as a result of people being owed money for drugs; family relationships have broken down after I wrote an autobiography that some relatives did not want me to publish; and my eldest son no longer speaks to me and has prevented me from seeing my grandchildren.
Recently, I spent a few days in hospital and have started seeing a psychologist. I'm trying to work through everything, but I often feel broken, confused, and emotionally drained.
What I struggle to understand is how family members can block and unblock you repeatedly, or how someone can say they want to leave and then change their mind over and over. It feels like I'm constantly on an emotional roller coaster.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you find stability and peace when the people around you seemed so unpredictable?
