My grandmother was a teacher. When she got married, she was fired because married women weren’t meant to work. She wanted to work though, so she was immediately re-hired at 50% of her former salary. This was her. She also opened the very first preschool in Vancouver which is still running today.

My siblings and I were homeschooled by evangelical Christians. My sister was raised to be a trad wife and nothing more. Unfortunately, her husband doesn't earn enough for that lifestyle, and a decade or so ago she called me up sobbing because she had to get a job. It was only part-time, but it was enough to devastate her as she viewed it as a failure on her part. I will never forgive my mother for doing that to her.

I was laughing with my nonna, talking about how I broke up with my boyfriend a couple weeks ago. She asked me I'll ever date again. I said "Nonna, who else in this town makes more than me other than coworkers? None." Traditional values mean that the guy has to make enough for the wife to be a stay at home mom. The same types asking for a body count are hypocrites (nothing traditional about their own body counts) and gold diggers expecting women to earn 50/50 AND do everything at home.

my grandmother had money land and everything in between, but she still would always insist on me and my cousins to study and be independant, because she knew she was privilaged and she wanted us to creat for ourselves the freedom she had (she also donated everything to a goo cause so she kne she ain't leaving us any money lol)
