And Slavic grandmothers will love you forever if you eat everything they put on the table. And they put a LOT on their tables. (not Slavic relative, but friends whose grandmother apparently LOVED me bc even though I had no idea what anything was, I tried it anyway. She kept saying "eat, eat" and we were so stuffed by the end of the night. It was New Year's, and every available surface was covered in food lol It was delicious, and yes, she sent us all home with bags of tupperware leftovers.)
