One easy way to know you’ve actually stopped is to feel the car rock back slightly. Stop before the stop line, crosswalk, or intersection, whichever comes first. The mistake I see most often is drivers treating stop signs like yield signs and rolling through without ever fully stopping. Even when drivers do stop, many stop too far forward, past the stop line or into the crosswalk, which can create conflicts with pedestrians and limit visibility for everyone.
