I literally tell clients fine line tattoos are so hard to achieve and execute properly and if they want to get fine line to find someone that specializes in them because I genuinely cannot achieve that true fine line look 🙂↕️✨

Fine line ages better. Thick lines blow out and become illegible. All of sailor Jerry’s tattoos that people use as examples of Trad aging well were all single needle tattoos. Sailor Jerry only did single needle they aged well because they’re fine line.

I actually prefer to touch them up every 10 years, then have it blow out, particularly on my hands. I actually like them looking well worn, but I would be so upset if they were blown out

The weirdest thing too: is that they’ll say they can do it on their website, let you book an appointment for fine line, and then when you show up for the appointment, they put it on you in traditional style!!! After saying a million times that they can do fine line!! Like Nothing against traditional, but my friend literally went in for a FINE LINE spider that she made an appointment for *MONTHS* in advance, and bc the studio specialized in traditional, the spider is THICK and BULKY and randomly red in some places even tho they ASSURED her it would be fine line!!!! Anyways here’s my 3 yr old fine line dragon who’s holding up BEAUTIFULLY (she’s always been gray I wanted the “Smokey mist” effect)

I offer one free touch up on all my tattoos, and warn people that get fine line that some lines can slowly start to lighten, and that it’s not a problem to fix them if they eventually do, that I’d rather it fade than it to blow out. 🤘🏻 everyone loves that we go that route, as someone covered in blown out ass lines heavy handed men did with at least 9liners everyone
