THIS FILTHIEST CABBAGE just ruined all the cabbage recipes we made.🥬🔥 Part 3 Ingredients - 2 lbs ground beef (80/20) - 1 pk smoked sausage - ½ pk bacon - 1 large head green cabbage, chucked 2-3lbs - 1 large white onion, chunky - 1 red bell pepper, chunky - 1 yellow bell pepper, chunky - 4 tbsp all-purpose flour - 3 tbsp tomato paste - 3 tbsp garlic, minced - 1 jalapeño, minced - 2.5 cups beef broth - 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce - 2.5 tbsp Salt-Free Tony’s (or any other SF Creole Seasoning) - 1 tbsp smoked paprika - 2 tsp salt (add more if desired) - 1 pack Kraft Cheesy Melt Triple Cheddar - Optional: 1 tsp black pepper - Optional: red pepper flakes, to taste Cornbread Cheat😆 -1 pk Krusteaz Honey Cornbread mix - 4 tbsp stick real butter - 1 tbsp garlic minced - 1 tsp dried parsley - 2 tbsp Mike's hot honey - 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes Instructions 1. Chop and crisp the bacon and smoked sausage. Remove from the pot, then brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Do NOT drain the fat. 2. Push the beef to the sides of the pot. Add the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes, then add the onions and peppers and cook for another 2 minutes. 3. Add the flour and mix thoroughly before adding the Salt-Free Tony's, paprika, salt, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Then add the garlic and jalapeños and simmer for 5 minutes. 4. As always, this is the perfect time to taste and adjust the seasoning. 5. Add the chopped cabbage in batches, depending on the size of your pot. Stir until fully coated in the gravy. Cover and reduce the heat. 6. Simmer, covered, for 10–15 minutes, or until the cabbage reaches your preferred texture. 7. Add the bacon and smoked sausage, then mix and serve. I like adding them at the end for texture since the rendered fat has already added plenty of smoky flavor, but you can add them while the cabbage cooks if preferred. 8. CORNBREAD GLAZE Cook the cornbread according to the package instructions. In a small pan over medium heat, add the butter and garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the hot honey, parsley, and pepper flakes, then stir until slightly thickened. Spread over the cornbread, let it set for 5 minutes, then cut and serve. 9. If the sauce is too runny, cook uncovered for a few minutes. Serve it hot, add the mashed potatoes, top with a handful of cheese, then spoon the FILTHIEST CABBAGE on top.
