I think it's just the fact you didn't acknowledge that shein might be the only affordable thing for some people or like me I have no clothing or thrift stores where I live and the closest mall is a $100 taxi ride one way. The economy is terrible and there are affordable clothes on shein more affordable than Walmart etc. That's why people were upset I think.
