@drsaharyousef: Gen Z is the first generation in history that is measurably less cognitively capable than their parents, and the research points directly at screen time as the primary cause. The good news is neuroplasticity works in both directions and a more intentional relationship with technology is enough to start reversing the damage. #SaharYousef #BecomingSuperhuman #DigitalWellbeing
Is this genz or American gen z? Because that's a huge difference.

I genuinely don't believe this. But I'm 31, so it probably just isn't my issue.

Populations with higher screen time but WITHOUT the same increase in lead and persistent organic pollutants (much of Europe) have little cognitive difference.
Populations that do have the higher lead and POPs than millenials had but don't have the screen time DO see the cognitive problems.

I've read to my son since he was in my belly. read to him often as a baby. he was able to read and write before I sent him to school. as a teen, he is still top of his class. very involved in sports and music. he's also a gamer. if he wants to chill and relax, I encourage him to stay off his phone. id honestly rather he play video games or even watch a movie. im probably more addicted to my phone than he is. 😭

Totally agree with “more intentional relationship with your tech”. A lot of people will demonize the technology itself rather than the people that design and profit from the misuse.
