@offenceregister: Daniel Sanzone Wolverhampton Child Murder Daniel Sanzone, a 23-year-old from Wolverhampton, was sentenced to life imprisonment after causing catastrophic and fatal injuries to his 13-day-old son, Joshua Millinson. Following a three-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court, Sanzone was convicted of murder after medical experts likened the infant's horrific injuries to those seen in a high-speed car accident. 🚨 The Fatal Attack and Investigation The investigation established that the newborn was rushed to New Cross Hospital after Sanzone shamefully claimed the child had suddenly stopped feeding. While medical staff managed to resuscitate Joshua, he was placed on life support for nearly a month. A High Court ruling eventually directed that his care be withdrawn due to the irreversible nature of his brain and brain stem injuries. ⚖️ Judicial Findings of Prior Abuse The court reported a grim history of rough handling leading up to the murder. Post-mortem examinations established that the 13-day-old baby had suffered a catalogue of older injuries, including fractures to his legs and rib cage consistent with being forcibly gripped and squeezed. On the night of the fatal attack, the child's mother heard a loud "thud" from the living room, which Sanzone deceptively claimed was a dropped remote control. Mr Justice Holroyde noted that Sanzone monstrously breached his position of trust as a father and showed a shameful lack of remorse, refusing to give evidence to explain his actions. 📋 Current Status and Sentence Custodial Sentence: Life imprisonment with a minimum of 15 years (Sentenced November 2016). Release Eligibility: Eligible to apply for parole consideration in 2031. Legal Status: CONVICTED (Murder of a child). Judicial Oversight: Sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court following a West Midlands Police investigation. Origin: Wolverhampton, West Midlands. 🔍 Monitoring and Public Protection Sanzone is currently managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) within the prison estate. Due to the monstrous nature of his violence against a defenceless infant, his management is subject to high-level scrutiny. If he is ever released by the Parole Board, Sanzone will be subject to lifelong licence conditions. Any future attempt to utilise an address where children are present or fail to comply with strict supervision guidelines will result in an immediate return to prison for the rest of his life. 💬 WHAT DO YOU THINK?Given that this offender inflicted a catalogue of older fractures on a 13-day-old infant before committing murder, do you believe that a 15-year minimum term is sufficient for the killing of a newborn, or should child murder automatically trigger a whole-life order?
