Was the arrester already sized to the higher voltage? Every conversion I’ve helped with, someone forgets to change an arrester which ends up blowing when the station breaker is closed 😂

dead phase or not, that was just stupid to reach past one uncovered phase to get within the MAD to almost touch the center phase. it's not dead until it's grounded until then, treat it like it's still hot. you wouldnt touch 2 phases at the same time while it was energized, why do it when it's not grounded
