allie's story (her character in off campus) is a lot like that so i feel like reading her book, and seeing the perspective of other characters, as well, helped her reflect on her relationship. not to mention the male cast of the show seems to be treating their own girlfriends/fiance well and they're much hotter than this guy so i think that really put things in perspective for her. she also became friendly with these ladies (esp victoria) so that probably helped her see her worth clearer.
