@justinguitarofficial: That F chord doesn’t have to sound sour. 👀 In this conversation with Matt Schofield, Justin digs into how a simple note choice can completely change the feel of a blues phrase. 💡It’s one of those small details that separates “playing the right notes” from actually sounding musical. 🔗 Watch the full conversation with Justin and Matt Schofield on justinguitar.com
What do you mean sour? Like the note usually isn’t usually intonated well?

It’s just a note. There’s only 12 of them. Learn your modes, the cycle of fifths, triad theory and forget about the myth that one note sounds “sour”. Every note sounds good in context, even non-diatonic notes. There are no bad notes, just bad timing lol

they're saying playing a perfect 4th in a melody over a major chord usually doesn't sound as good as any other note in the ionian scale over that chord, which I agree with! Basically, they're saying if you ignore chord changes you probably hate playing F (in the key of C/Am), but if you pay attention to the chord changes, F is the best note you can hit when the chords under you switch to F

I’m not following what they are trying to say. That an F is always a bad note or chord?

There's no rule that says when the song's cord goes to an f you have to play an f note specifically.. There are other notes available especially since it starts in a minor
