@nostalgicsound_ng: Before the dawn of modern Nollywood, there was the golden era of African celluloid film. In 1978, the iconic producer and actor, the late Adeyemi “Ade-Love” Afolayan, collaborated with Nigeria’s pioneering film director, the legendary Dr. Ola Balogun, to bring a literary masterpiece to the big screen. . Ija Ominira was a brilliant cinematic adaptation of the famous Yoruba novel Ọmọ Olókùn Ẹṣin, written by the celebrated cultural icon of blessed memory, Adebayo Faleti (translated in English as The Freedom Fight). . The story centers on a gripping internal struggle where an 0ppr£$$ed community bravely rises up to overthrow a cr¥el, tyr@nni!cal king. It gave a strong look at leadership, accountability, and the collective fight for justice. . Together, Ade-Love and Dr. Balogun proved that adapting local literature into indigenous-language cinema could hold massive commercial, intellectual, and artistic power on the global stage. . . 📺: @kapmotionpictures | @kapstream_tv . . . #AfricanFilm #AdeLove #70sTV #Nollywood #NostalgicSoundNg
