Getting bigger has nothing to do with the amount of tension. It has to do with tension over time. Muscle grows in a response to storing more glycogen, not strength. Hence why you have to eat in a surplus to even grow in the first place. You can LITERALLY grow your calfs from intense squat jumps for time and decrease rest for intensity.

Tendon length and muscle belly length vary a lot from person to person and genetics play a major role. Maybe elite sprinters but that’s a small sample size.

Gotta disagree because I’m a heavier guy and speaking as a heavier guy, look at any big fat guys who have to walk around a lot. Giant calves. The guy speaking is just way too light for his own calves to grow with his weight but walking is a great calf exercise, especially if you do it for hours a day. And even if you remove the fat part, look at anybody who climbs mountains for a living, day after day after day exercising is the key for calves.
