There needs to be a feedback loop to the providers that make erroneous diagnosis like this. Like an email telling them that the patient they diagnosed with anxiety and went seeking a second opinion was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism after a CT scan.

Yes!! I went years with gallstones and pelvic hernia. Had symptoms for years but was told to lose weight and I would feel better, and I was a hypochondriac without actually saying it . Two doctors took me seriously. After surgeries, my symptoms went away.

Oh boy, I have pain when taking a deep breath sometimes and I always think is that precordial catch. How do you differentiate between that and a possible clot?

I actually do have panic disorder and I know when I’m having anxiety versus something else at any anxiety I have is like anticipatory anxiety like I’ll have enough of symptoms symptoms, but panic during an annual physical so like I guess that’s the way to differentiate it to

I knew I had a PE, triage left me wait for 6 hours in the ER but never told me they didn’t believe (even told them I have close family history of Factor V), low and behold I had a PE :)

I have Hodgkin’s lymphoma and the first provider I went to said I was “perfectly fine” after my bloodwork came back normal. He said it’s just anxiety.

I had H. pylori and they told me it was anxiety! I mean I did have anxiety from it because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me for two weeks
