Whoa Dave, very factually incorrect about the interest rate with the IRS. They are in fact WAY better than a credit card rate and it depending on your credit score it would be hard to beat the rate they charge. You will likely spend more money with a different lender.

I ended up only like 2 grand to the IRS one year. Trust me it's much easier To go get a personal loan to get the IRS paid off. Because I work full-time. I didn't have time to sit there and be on. Hold transferred and transferred and transferred. To sit there for almost 2:03 hours a day to try and make a payment plan.

Before consolidating, I'd want to know the interest rate, payment terms and whether the IRS is offering a payment plan. Sometimes consolidation helps, sometimes it just moves the debt around. The numbers matter more than the label.
