With a very heavy and broken heart, I am writing this. Last night, May 31st, 2026, at 10:12pm we lost Leo. Kim and I got Leo 4 months after we were married. Pretty early on in our marriage, I decided I did not want children. Leo was more than a pet to me. He was my child. His passing was sudden to us but apparently Dogs love their owners so much that they hide their sickness until they cannot. Leo tried to spare us the pain of finding out about his pain. Every morning Leo greets me by giving me his paw and wagging his tail. Around 9am, we eat apples, during the day he follows me around, and loves to watch me cook. And I read with Leo watching me every night before he gets sleepy and goes to bed at 9pm. Last night he went to bed for the last time but woke up in heaven. This morning was the first time in almost 12 years that I was not be greeted... Leo loved apples and mangos, Kim's daily 2 hour walks with just the two of them, homemade food, his Aunt's treats, belly rubs, running around in the snow and helping me garden. I was supposed to start my garden this week, but Leo won't be here for me to explain each seed and flower to him. But now He is the most beautiful flower forever planted in my heart. Everything happened so fast. Even in the end... Leo just wanted to keep us safe, love us, and make us happy. I thank God for creating Leo and allowing Leo to love us. We needed him.
