I was always called talented in drawing I could draw earlier than others and it always came easy to me but all that means nothing if u don’t work on it I never did I just stayed in the same place so now my talent is nothing anymore so I don’t know if that makes sense but due to that for me talent and hard work always comes hand in hand so if someone were to say ur talented I would not take it as a dismissal of my work (hope it makes sense with my English)

I'M still trying to get used to this concept, because I KNOW people are not saying this in a demeaning or negative way, even if it sounds like that to me, because I know the thousands of hours of hard work that went into my art. But I try to find a middleground by thanking them but also telling them that "talent" is maybe like 10% of the process.

Raven :
"talent" is something that can hardly be obtained from hard work i think talent in painting isnt moving the hand but getting the insight and inspiration cause a lot of people dont even know how to paint and it takes something not only hard work to have those ideas in your head and actually making them into reality there can be a lot of emotions in a painting and i think an artist that can put those "emotions" in a painting is someone with real "talent" cause all the other things can be obtained from hard work in my opinion
