My daughter was fully potty trained by 15 months from elimination communication! She wore a pull up at night til about 2 because she’d have some pee night time accidents on occasion however for the most part would be dry

As an ex dog trainer I have always found this concept SO interesting. It’s so similar to dog potty training. But it’s something we definitely plan to try when I have kids.

I feel people forget babies’ brains are constantly developing. It’s not about them “remembering”, it’s about building an instinctual habit/association. Obviously it’s not the same as sitting on an actual toilet, but it helps them to realize to go separate from their diaper, so by the time you introduce a toilet/toddler toilet when they’re able to walk, they’ll know where to go on their own and not have the habit of soiling their diapers ingrained into them. Naturally wanting to avoid bodily waste is SO common in the animal kingdom. Also I don’t see how the time it takes hold your baby over a potty is any different than the time it takes to change a diaper?? So baby is still experiencing the same amount of “babyhood” guys; not to mention it’s not like she’s making baby assume responsibility, she’s just following the ebbs and flows. This baby is not having to think anything of it!

I did this with my son and we were done with diapers at one. What you’re saying is exactly my experience. Because I did this with him he hated diapers and being dirty, so it was sooo easy for him to be fully potty trained early. It was just…an easy and natural transition
