I think the drone flying away from his house shouldn't matter within the context they were discussing. If it had stolen information, and was then retreating with it, you would need to shoot it down to prevent it from being used to harm you.

In my country the drone would be illegal if it has a camera. Because of the GDPR. Mostly you just talk to you neighbour.

lets be honest at that point whem camera is pointing down straight to someones property and is filming without propety owners permission at that height it would be called as spying, if it was military base it would be case close pretty easily

personally i think the judge is unprofessional. "that's what you fear of? " that's exactly what we all fear. the guy could be handling company's data, personal information or whatever the picture or recording that can be used to coerced or blackmail someone
