How do you communicate with someone who cut you off to avoid dealing with how they hurt you and avoid accountability 🙃 And then you reacted to how they treated you

If someone has cut you off, maybe you should just respect their space and leave them alone?

But what do you say you’re sorry for when you don’t know what the problem is?

Its called a boundary. Accept it and move on. I cut someone off in Nov and I am happier for it.

I think it’s acceptable in a few certain situations to cut someone off but I think there are many situations where it’s immature. Learn how to communicate with the other person and work through issues. Don’t give vague or unclear boundaries. If you need space then communicate that and say how long, what space means and what that means for the relationship. But sometimes cutting off someone is appropriate and then sometimes it’s not.

This felt so healing to hear…. As the person who walked away, the reality is nothing in me wanted that outcome. It was the last resort, and it happened for several valid reasons. But this mature approach to repair would get a response from me…. Because it’s not that I want want to be connected…. It’s that I was harmed and no care was evident.

I have to apply this to my son and his wife. Most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. They do not want to build a bridge as much as I’ve tried so I will choose to be a lighthouse. They know I love them and they know where I am at. ❤️

I wish I had seen this 5 years ago when a longtime friend suddenly (to me,anyway) cut things off. Five years later and this kind of conversation feels too late. (But then, if a “close” friend cut things off suddenly after 10 years, maybe we weren’t as close as I thought we were)

If you’ve messed up that’s one perspective…. However if you haven’t messed up and being cut off with no apparent logical reason then that’s another whole beast.

Them saying they're not asking for an apology would end the conversation right there full stop when they should be giving one and don't understand that and take accountability.

Most people don’t cut someone out of their life for one or two issues. It’s often thousands and it’s who they are and it’s a very difficult decision.

I pulled back from a friendship w my ex. He stopped wanting conversation so I said I’m done. I’m here when your open to being a friend, until them have a nice life and love you.
