His hematocrit is only 10, his white blood cell count is extremely high, and his albumin is very low. Yet he continues to eat everything he sees, stays active, tries to escape his kennel, and even attempts to bite—our little fighter is full of spirit. ❤️ Today, Ray finally received a blood transfusion from a donor cat named Timoshka. This is an important step in stabilizing him before surgery. His eye is believed to be the source of the severe inflammation causing his dangerously high white blood cell count. Because of this, Ray is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the affected eye. The procedure cannot be delayed any longer. Tomorrow, he will also have additional blood tests. If his albumin levels drop further, he may require an albumin transfusion as well. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Ray so far. Your kindness is giving him a real chance to survive. ⚠️ We are still in urgent need of donations. The cost of hospitalization is approximately $12,000 per day, and the surgery is expected to cost around $17,000–$18,000 depending on its complexity.
