@basicsundaycooking: Homemade roasted seaweed recipe ⬇️ 1 pack of dried seaweed (gim; avoid the pre-roasted sheets often used for gimbap. I got mine from Zion market) Sesame oil (optional: Combine with perilla oil for nuttier flavor) Salt (fine salt or MSG salt) 1. Place a sheet of dried seaweed on a tray, cutting board, or other clean flat surface. 2. Lightly brush both side with sesame oil. Sprinkle salt on one side only. 3. Place the sheet on a tray with the salted side facing up. 4. For the remaining sheets, you only need to brush sesame oil on one side and sprinkle salt on that same side before stacking on the tray. 5. If you don’t plan on roasting all the sheets, freeze the extra for later. 6. Heat a griddle or large pan over medium-low heat for about 90 seconds. Place a sheet of seaweed in the pan and toast for 20-30 seconds per side, or until crisp and fragrant. Seaweed roasts quickly, so keep a close eye on it and lower the heat as needed. If it’s brown, it’s burnt. 7. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container once cooled. If the seaweed loses its crispness, briefly reheat it in a dry pan over low heat. #koreanfood #seaweedsnack #nori #seaweed
