the sand dunes is a fun place to take the kids, there is also Zapata falls which is close to the sand dunes. there is also the alligator farm, the hot springs in hooper, ufo watch towers, and so much more. born and raised here in the San Luis valley

I grew up playing at the dunes. in the spring, there is a river that runs along the dunes that is so fun to play in and then it goes underground in June 😵💫 it's crazy. probably not this year though since we got no snow. anyway! this is cool! I heard they built this. haven't been yet.

The dunes are a blackout area!! It’s amazing they do not allow large light pollution, which is why you can see sooo many stars, it’s just perfect
