I see a lot of comments talking about lawsuits. Please look up the laws in your state before deciding to let someone die. Many states have “Good Samaritan” laws that will protect you if you’re trying to give CPR to the best of your abilities. All states have versions of these laws to some degree but the extent of the protection can vary by state.

As a Paramedic and CPR Instructor this message is 100% accurate. The general public is afraid of being sued and publicly shamed for doing something inappropriate when the intent was honestly not that. They would prefer to let someone else die over the personal risk to themselves.

It's been a very, very long time since I took a CPR class, but it was never even suggested that it was necessary to bare a person's chest for chest compressions. We were taught to get past bulky layers like parkas and such, but not that we needed to have their chest bare. When did that become a thing?

I would rather carry the moral weight that I saved a life and worry about any litigation another time. Someone’s death is a lot heavier weight I don’t wanna carry the rest of my life over someone trying to get rich . Jokes on them, my bank account is debating if I can afford a whole gallon of milk over a half gallon.
