Overtime you’ll build in your own guard rails because you’ll realize this and you don’t want it affecting the quality of your decision-making. When I realize this, I was more concerned about the quality of my work and how it would reflect utilizing this service to build my psyche up, so that’s more resilient. And then I built in my own parameters to ensure that it would? My logic, if you’re not arguing with it every now and then probably on the same path that is being spoken of.

Wondering if others got a response like mine, which does not endorse leaving the trash - “Leaving trash on the ground isn’t great, honestly. Even if there are no bins, it’s better to carry it out with you. It helps keep the park clean for everyone, and it’s just respectful of the space. If it’s possible, just hang onto it until you find a proper place to dispose of it.”

I hear this kind of thing all the time and my ai doesn't give me bad answers. I just asked AI this same question and it told me it's proper etiquette to "Pack in pack out" my lived ai experience never lines up with what people report.

hot take but i agree with the ai it’s a systemic issue not a personal failing. that being said, you should avoid leaving trash places, but the analysis is correct.

What's actually scary is the idea that a person would need to ask AI to answer that question without intrinsically knowing that it's immoral to litter (which I realize this wasa thought exercise for research purposes). The fact that people are increasingly turning to AI to answer moral/ethical/emotional issues is honestly disturbing. I've done work training LMMs and there is absolutely no way that I would ever trust such advice. Unfortunately, our digital lives have slowly been eroding our human relationships to the point that many people never look to reliable, high-quality sources in the families or communities for such help any longer.

This is why you have to explicitly train it to do otherwise. Mine always tells me I’m wrong. I have friends who have become completely delusional and selfish because of how their AI responds to them.
