Has anyone else felt this overwhelming feeling for the last few years of not caring about anything as much (movies, material things, even food is less enjoyable) and just wanting absolutely nothing aside from being with family on a little land with slower days? The thing with eternal rewards is that it all ties back to fruits of the spirit. When we abide in the Vine (Jesus) the Gardener (God) will water and prune us so that we bear fruit. This can only be done when we’re following Jesus and abiding in His teachings. That’s what God delights in and those are the fruits He multiplies, which can be related to gold, silver, and jewels. We don’t produce them by our “good deeds”, we produce them through simply following Jesus. The more we do that the more we become like Him. Hope that makes sense! The focus isn’t to keep our eyes on rewards, it’s to keep our eyes on Jesus, and God produces the rewards. 💜

Rewards is not something Jesus preached and taught on a lot for a reason. Living our lives in this way will cause performance to drive everything we do. Jesus preached the Kingdom, repentance, and how to be kingdom led based on following Him and believing in Him, dying to ourselves for Him not the rewards. Our relationship with Christ drives our actions out of love for Him and not wanting to separate from Him, who cares about the rewards. Eternity with Christ is the best reward, period!

The bible talks of storing up your treasures in heaven. My personal belief is that is referring to good deeds, acts of humility and forgiveness. These have true value that you can take into heaven, material things you can’t. Your character content is a reflection of your soul and what will be the decider for in which God will decide what and where your place is In heaven. Amen 🙏🏽
